Memory & Context

How Sidekick maintains context across conversations and learns your preferences.

How memory works#

Sidekick maintains two types of context:

Conversation memory#

Within a single conversation, Sidekick remembers everything discussed. You can reference earlier messages, build on previous proposals, and iterate on drafts without repeating yourself.

Workspace memory#

Across conversations, Sidekick learns patterns from your interactions:

  • Preferences — tone, formatting, common recipients
  • Corrections — when you edit proposals, Sidekick adjusts
  • Patterns — recurring tasks and workflows

Context window#

Each message to the LLM includes relevant context: your governance rules, workspace preferences, recent conversation history, available tools and scopes, and your current message. This context is assembled automatically — you don't need to manage it.

Privacy#

  • Memory is workspace-scoped — it never leaks between workspaces
  • You can clear workspace memory in Settings → Privacy
  • Conversation history can be deleted individually
  • The audit trail in Observe is separate and cannot be deleted

success Sidekick gets better as you use it. Corrections and edits are the fastest way to teach it your preferences.
