What it is#
When you open a workspace, you land on one of two surfaces:
- Sidekick Today — current work, what's waiting on you, recent activity, fast composer to chat with Sidekick
- Overview — workspace dashboard with the full operator view
New users default to Sidekick Today. Existing users keep Overview unless they choose otherwise.
Where to change it#
Sidekick → Settings → Workspace landing. Pick Overview or Sidekick Today. The change applies only to your view of this workspace — teammates keep their own preference.
Disclosure-only#
Landing preference is a personal display setting. It does not:
- Change your role
- Grant or remove access to any surface
- Change what teammates see
Demo workspaces always land on Playground regardless of preference; builder workspaces always land on Mission Control.
Why this exists#
After INIT-089 made Sidekick Today the recommended starting surface, we kept Overview as a first-class alternative for users who prefer the dashboard view — neither is forced.
