Landing preference: Dashboard vs Sidekick

Each user can choose where a workspace opens for them — Dashboard (the workspace overview) or Sidekick (the conversation). The preference is per user and per workspace, doesn't change role authority, and doesn't affect teammates. Switch it any time in Settings.

What it is#

When you open a workspace, you land on one of two surfaces:

  • Sidekick — the conversation. Ask, delegate, see what's happening, and act on suggestions inline.
  • Dashboard — the workspace dashboard with the full operator view.

New users default to Sidekick. Existing users keep Dashboard unless they choose otherwise.

Where to change it#

Settings → Workspace landing. Pick Dashboard or Sidekick. The change applies only to your view of this workspace — teammates keep their own preference.

Disclosure-only#

Landing preference is a personal display setting. It does not:

  • Change your role
  • Grant or remove access to any surface
  • Change what teammates see

Demo workspaces always land on Playground regardless of preference; builder workspaces always land on Dashboard.

Why this exists#

Sidekick is the front door for most consumers — it's where work gets asked, planned, and tracked in one place. Dashboard remains a first-class alternative for operators who prefer the dashboard view.
