Your inference wallet

Managed AI usage is paid from a per-workspace inference wallet of prepaid credits. This covers topping up, checking your balance, setting limits, and what happens when credits run low.

How managed inference is billed#

Managed AI usage draws down a per-workspace inference wallet of prepaid credits. Governed work also carries a small governance fee on top. If you bring your own provider key (BYOK), your provider bills the model usage. For a proxied BYOK call, only the governance fee for that call is debited from the inference wallet.

If your workspace has an inference wallet, the workspace billing surface shows its balance. Plan details are in Plans & Pricing.

Managing your wallet#

  • Top up — buy credits in the fixed amounts offered at checkout. A minimum top-up applies.
  • Check your balance — the workspace billing surface shows current credit and recent usage.
  • Set limits — budgets and alerts let you cap spend and get warned before you hit it. See Budgets & Alerts.

When credits run low#

If a workspace's wallet is empty, managed AI usage — including Sidekick chat that relies on managed inference — pauses until you top up. Work that doesn't need managed inference is unaffected, and topping up resumes it immediately.
